Everyday Lips

My eye make-up is something that changes day to day depending on my mood and how lazy I’m feeling that morning. It tends to involve a maximum of two eyeshadow colours and winged liner but can vary from a barely there shimmery champagne colour with minimal liner, if any at all, to a dark matte smokey eye with a dramatic flick. My lips on the other hand are a different story…

I have definitely dabbled in the nudes, the baby pinks and the vampy purples but have since made the realisation thanks to some very unforgiving Facebook photos, that I need to stick to what I know suits me – mid-tone neutrals.

I know it’s boring but I can rely on these types of shades not to let me down and for someone who, most of the time, does her make-up in a rush, this is key. My favourite shade of the moment, and one that I’ve been using every single day for work is Rimmel Apocalips in the shade Celestial.

Not only is it the perfect shade of neutral mid-tone pinky beige but the staying power is EPIC and it doesn’t do what a lot of long-lasting lip colours do by wearing off into a stain. Instead the glossiness actually stays put too! The formula is creamy so it doesn’t feel sticky on the lips, just silky and moisturising. Also, it’s worth noting that it doesn’t have an overpowering scent, just a subtle cosmeticy smell that doesn’t linger once applied.

The gloss comes with a doe-foot applicator which in my opinion makes it much easier to apply than if it were a brush wand.

I picked mine up from Boots for £6.49 and there are 12 other shades available ranging from a light nude to a bright red.
